Richard Marsden (1548) knocked over Snooker Break Builder (2557) for a chunky 29-point swing — one of those “how did that happen” wins that keep the board interesting. Fig Tree Bistro went on a tear against high-rated Oliver Lythe, banking two 24-point wins while Oliver sat north of 2000. Alistair McIntyre (1024) also punched up, toppling a 1576-rated opponent for another 24-point haul, and Metodi Simonovski (1008) did similar damage against a 1700+ rival.

On the pro tour, Ali Carter lifted the English Open in Brentwood — a home-crowd win in Essex. Per WST and BBC Sport, he beat Mark Williams 9–6 in the final on 13 Sep 2026 for his first English Open title and his seventh ranking crown overall. Trailing 5–3, he won most of the evening session to close it out, collected the £100,000 top prize and the Steve Davis Trophy, and climbs back into the world's top 16 (roughly from around 25th). Big tournament polish is landing in Flash Snooker today.

Entry is clearer and fairer: when you join a tournament, the entry cost in rating points and vCash comes off right away. Change your mind before it starts? Withdraw and those fees come back. If an event kicks off with fewer than two real entrants, it cancels and refunds — no lonely “solo prize” runs.

Prize splits for rating points and vCash now track how many players actually entered, so the pot feels right whether the field is packed or smaller. The in-game tournament browser also shows fees, prizes, standings, and reconnect-friendly match flow so you can follow your bracket without losing your place.

The English Open keeps serving shocks in Brentwood. Per BBC Sport, Wales' Liam Davies (20) stunned world champion Wu Yize 4–1 — he raced into a 3–0 lead with a 105 along the way and sealed his first ranking-event quarter-final. Elsewhere Kyren Wilson ended Mark Selby's run 4–3, Judd Trump edged Anthony McGill in a decider, and Ali Carter, Ding Junhui, and Zhou Yuelong (with a 141) also advanced. The English Open in Brentwood keeps delivering drama. Per BBC Sport, Mark Selby survived a real scrap with Zhang Anda — Zhang forced a decider with a century of 109, then Selby cleared 39 and won 59–49 on the final black for a 4–3 win. He now meets Kyren Wilson in the last 16 (Wilson also edged his last-32 match on the black).

Yesterday's giant-killer Oliver Lines is out — Yuan Sijun beat him 4–3 after Lines had come back from 0–2 to lead 3–2.
